GLOW Salt Detox Bath

It’s Thanksgiving week, and that means that while we’re all focusing on family, friends and being grateful for all this season holds, we’re probably also dealing with some stress from the chaos the holidays can bring!

Our weekly recipe is a little different this week. We want you to take 30 minutes or an hour for yourself this week. Take a moment to light some candles, turn on some of your favorite music, focus on your breath and just relax.

Taking care of yourself helps you to recharge – making you better able to care for your family and join in all the holiday celebrations.

Here’s an easy recipe for a Salt Detox Bath – the perfect way to detox your body, increase your mineral stores and recharge in the middle of the week!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup Sea Salt or Himalayan Salt
  • 1/4 cup Epsom Salt
  • 1/4 cup Baking Soda
  • 1/3 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 10 – 15 drops of your favorite Essential Oil (optional. I like peppermint or lavender, but any of your favorites will work!)

Directions:

Dissolve salt, Epsom salt, and baking soda in boiling water in a quart-size jar and set aside. Fill the bathtub with warm/hot water and add the apple cider vinegar. Pour salt mixture in and add essential oils if using.

Soak in the bath for 30 minutes, or as long as desired. Note that with any detox bath, you may feel tired or even a little lightheaded afterward. Take your time getting out of the bathtub, and give yourself time to ease back into your day or evening.
